Danielle Dega

a Russian artist, Spanish ancestry. She was born and grew up in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. This unique mix of the East and West is reflected in her creative works, through bright colors, sunny flowers, and mystical motives.

Danielle loved drawing since her very childhood. But she had no chance to enter any art school, because her family used to move from one place to another. Her first art teacher was Yuri Asentyevitch Khrenov, Danielle’s uncle. After graduating a physic-mathematical class of the President’s lyceum for gifted children, she entered the faculty of project design and modeling of the Tajik-American Technological College, where she was lucky to return to her passion of drawing and get a priceless fellowship with the folk artist of Tajikistan Zukhur Habibullaev, the author of modern Tajik flag and coat of arms, whose works are represented in the famous Tretyakov’s gallery. His words about that it’s better to be an artist among cooks, than a cook among artists, became a guide star in numerous unexpected turns of the life.

Danielle’s first exhibition in Russia took place in 2008, in Nijniy Novgorod and was timed to the anniversary of the city. A rare mix of Southern colors, the East mystery and Western intellectual clarity creates an amazingly harmonious atmosphere making Danielle’s pictures especially attractive for decorating interiors. So her canvas can be seen in private collections in Germany, Spain, Canada, the USA, and Finland.

My inspiration grows from deep emotional experiences and a need to express what cannot be expressed in words. It is meditating on images of natural objects or a person which don’t lie on the surface. I see them in my perception with my inner sight. As a result, a sort of a dance or a rhythm is being born, and I want to create it and share it with people, saying “Look, how impressive it can be!”

An artist by birth, Danielle Dega has the diploma “Linguistics and inter-cultural communication” of Tajik-Russian Slavic University and the “Civil Law” of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Knowledge, on the subject of holding companies, what doesn’t interfere anyhow with her creative life, but on the contrary, serves as a stimulant.

Last years Danielle has been actively cooperating with the organization “Sunny Wind”, whose specialization is supporting sport tourism and active life style. She develops new tours in Tatarstan and Mari El Republic, namely projects devoted to art and history of art.

One of most promising projects, “Lighthouse Calipso” includes plans on the development of excursion tourism, helping in learning cultures and art of other countries, leading educational programs, directly related to the development of spiritual and intellectual potential. Besides, within this project, exhibitions and other creative activities are planned in Russia and abroad.

Thus, creativity, travels, and business go well together like the East and the West do in the artist’s pictures, giving joy and flow of spirits to surrounding people.
